INDIVIDUAL SUPERVISION
The importance of a good supervisor can not be underestimated. My supervision is trauma-informed and tends to be direct, and experiential in nature. I want you to learn from what you have done in the past and connect it with new ideas for the future. I will often connect your supervision to real life examples, either from your own history, or your current cases. Understanding the role our own history plays in our work is essential in recognizing countertransference, transference, and holding appropriate boundaries. I believe strongly that connecting the dots between the why we do something, and the how we do something, creates a safe productive learning environment. Being a supervisor is one of the best parts of my work as a Social Worker because I am able to share my work and all that I have learned with new, strong, and committed social workers.
GROUP SUPERVISION
Group for Limited Licensed Social Workers who want to focus on trauma work. The groups roughly follows the six steps I have developed for my trauma-informed work. Each member is encouraged to bring their own cases to discuss in group, recognize what aspects of their work is effective, and where they need more clarity. Topics include countertransference, vicarious trauma, trauma-informed employers/employees, co-regulation between the client and the therapist, how to help clients who are stuck, and my six steps for working in a trauma-informed way.
